Understand the context of information, advice & guidance

Unit 5

Understand skills required by advice providers

On Completion

Upon completion, you will have developed a comprehensive understanding of information, advice and guidance principles and practices.

You will be equipped with the skills to perform a variety of tasks including the processes of signposting and how to monitor & evaluate referrals to ensure clients receive appropriate support. You will recognise the specific needs of different client groups and support clients in challenging discriminatory behaviour promoting equality and diversity.

This qualification opens the door to numerous career opportunities in a variety of sectors where information, advice and guidance is essential and provides a pathway for further education and professional development in the field.

Eligibility Criteria
  1. You must currently live in a Non-Devolved Area of England or the Great London Area (GLA). If you live in GLA you must evidence you have permission to remain here for the next 365 days. For the rest of the country, you must have been resident in the UK/EEA for 3+ years, for purposes other than study.
  2. You must be over the age of 19 or older (on 31 August 2024) and be able to fully commit to this course.
  3. You must have the relevant ID to register for this course. (passport, visa/permit, birth certificate or driving licence and proof of address within the last 3 months)
  4. You must not have done this qualification at the same or higher level previously.

The course is delivered remotely and you will need a laptop or computer to be able to access and study on this course.
