On Completion

Upon completion, you will have developed a comprehensive understanding of infection prevention and control principles and practices.

You will be able to define key terms related to infection prevention and control, explain the characteristics of different types of microorganisms, describe how infections can enter and exit the body, identify common sources of infection, and outline the steps to break the chain of infection.

Eligibility Criteria
  1. You must currently live in a Non-Devolved Area of England or the Great London Area (GLA). If you live in GLA you must evidence you have permission to remain here for the next 365 days. For the rest of the country, you must have been resident in the UK/EEA for 3+ years, for purposes other than study.
  2. You must be over the age of 19 or older (on 31 August 2024) and be able to fully commit to this course.
  3. You must have the relevant ID to register for this course. (passport, visa/permit, birth certificate or driving licence and proof of address within the last 3 months)
  4. You must not have done this qualification at the same or higher level previously.

The course is delivered remotely and you will need a laptop or computer to be able to access and study on this course.
